The Charismatic Movement

The Charismatic Movement is usually considered the revival of glossalalia and prophetic utterances in the church. The name of the movement comes from the fact that it aims at the special gifts of grace, charismata, such as prophesying and speaking in tongues, which appeared in Apostolic times.

Unfortunately, the charismatic movement is often more about charismania than true charism. Whenever and wherever, the gift seems to be more exalted than the giver, confusion reigns instead of the Holy Spirit.
