Suffering

Ginger Zemelman

Dear Chimezie!

I take to heart your words on suffering.. I have so much confusion on how to address these things. On one hand, I know God's arm is not short that he cannot save us, heal us, deliver us. Is it just in our not asking that we do not receive healing? Or that our faith is not enough? Are there people who have special dispensation for healing, and others just aren't "gifted in that area"? Do we need more fasting? In other words, is there a formula for healing? I have seen a few miraculous healings; but not many. I have seen thousands prayed for, and nothing happened.

Does that change my faith that God heals? Absolutely not! I believe it now more than ever. But for some reason, we are not seeing it manifested too often. But the fact that God is the same yesterday, today and forever keeps me praying for the sick.

I absolutely agree with your comments on attitude determining altitude! And I believe that much sickness and infirmity comes from heart issues; bitterness, jealously, envy, strife, etc… So maybe those are the things that need healing the most. Maybe God wants to work from the inside out on many of us.

It's hard to find a place to stand on this sometimes; you hear teachers say that healing is the children's bread. Well, there are a lot of starving children out there! I want to see the miraculous be a part of our every day lives as believers; Jesus commanded us to preach the kingdom, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and freely give what was given to us. So, what are we waiting for? But how do we do it? When? Where?

Oh, God! Open our eyes to see your goodness and your mercy. Deliver us from small view of you. Help us to never lose sight of your goodness, even in suffering.

Leaving the Place of Shame

Ginny Bell

My beloved one, your greatest fear is of being rejected and unloved. You are afraid that if anyone really knew you, they would stop loving you. You are afraid of not measuring up, of failing to do well enough. But I have news for you. I have fully accepted you. I fully love you. I know everything about you. I have known you from the end of time and am ecstatically happy with you. I delight over you. I dance over you. I joy over you with singing. I know you and I love you and accept you. I formed you. In all your weakness, I AM your God. I go to the very heart of who you are and I say I AM pleased with you.

Let me love you in your place of weakness. Do not run from my love. You will never be able to make yourself good enough to enter into my presence and receive My love. My Son paid that price for you -- it was much too expensive for you -- no man is wealthy enough to redeem his own soul. No man is a sinless sacrifice like My Son was. The debt is paid. You are accepted. You are whole. You are worthy.

Release all your brokenness to Me. Let Me take away your shame; yes, you are dark, but you are lovely to Me. You are broken and wounded and sore and sick; you are tired and weak, tattered and incomplete. But I AM your Salvation; I AM the God who heals you. I AM the God who is with you in the pain. I AM the God who says all things are new and your brokenness, which is able to work humility in you, was always there.

Mankind has always been desolate without Me, but most have not come to see that I have brought the Cure. For man's heart is desperately wicked -- who can know it? I bring some hidden things to light, a little at a time, so that My precious children can see I AM there to restore, to give beauty for ashes, ACCEPTANCE for rejection.

And I AM bringing My Son's Bride to this place of healing, of KNOWING, that I AM her Completion. I AM raising up a pure, spotless Bride for My Son -- a Bride who has left the place of shame and has entered into the place of purity and the ecstatic joy of knowing that she is forgiven, healed, cleansed, complete and beautiful in My sight. She has washed her robes in the Blood of My Son. She stands pure and holy because the Bridegroom has made her righteous.

So rejoice! The revelation of Restoration and Completion and Purity is coming, and My Son and I are exploding with joy to see this happen in the heart of the Bride.

Psalm 69:19-20

19 Thou dost know my reproach and my shame and my dishonor; all my adversaries are before Thee. 20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am so sick. And I looked for sympathy, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none. (NAS)

Isaiah 61:1-4

  1. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and freedom to prisoners;

  2. To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,

  3. To grant those who mourn {in} Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

  4. Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations, and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many (NAS)

Surely, The Roadblocks Will Be Taken Away

Stephen Hanson

[17] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. II Co. 3:17

GAL 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

"This is a new era.....This is a new era for those who speak in my name. Remember how you've struggled, remember how you've been brought to places, and then were not allowed to speak forth my word? I am taking away the hindrances. I am taking away the things that have blocked you. I am opening doors and I am opening avenues of expression. There will be new freedom given to in my name, says the Lord. You will see my hand at work and you will see Me go before you. "

"For too long my prophets have been held back. For too long their fire has not been able to burn. But I say, come back to the camp. Come to my altar and surely I will pour forth my speech to you there. Surely, the enemy has tried, but surely, he will not prevail. Instead of the desert, a fountain will spring up. Surely, there have been times and seasons that have been set aside, but surely, now I say, the road blocks will be taken down. "

"You know who you are, and you know the "season" that you have been in. Grab a hold of my door and enter into the promises that I will give you in my name. My rod and my staff they will comfort you. Surely, I will spread a table before you, and surely, that table will have the bounty from my hand. It will have the "bread" of my presence, and it will have the "wine" of my anointing. "

"I will go before you, and I will spread apart the ocean. You will go across onto dry land. Surely, I will do these things. Surely, you will see them happen in my name, says the Lord. Surely, the roadblocks will be taken away."

Prepare For the Worst

Ras Robinson

Your enemy is playing for keeps. A great and greater battle will soon ensue. You have not passed this way before. This will be like a raging fire and violent storm. You will soon face your angered enemy who knows that his time is short. He will put forth his most brilliant strategy. His fierceness will be unequaled. He is loosed, hungry for blood and is seeking revenge and destruction. He is out of control and capable of anything destructive. A deceptive strategy he will use is to lure you out of safety to fight him hand to hand. He hates the fortress I have granted you in my name. Get counsel, sanctify your heart and change your garments again. Call for intercessors. Stand with your brothers and sisters in the faith. You need to get accustomed to changing your garments regularly. The world in which you live is a place of soiling each and every day. But you are not of this world. Wash your hands, cleanse your heart. Make sure there is no ground in you that would grant access to the enemy permission and invitation to come in like a storm. He is looking for the weak and unawares persons and groups. This is a spiritual battle. And it must be fought spiritually. Now here is my strategy. The battle is not yours but mine. The enemy is not yours but mine. Therefore I want you to step aside and hide in my matchless name. Rest and know that I will not allow more than you can endure. Pray for my grace. Pray that you will be able to comprehend the glorious promises and revelations that I have already give you. Stand and see the salvation of the Lord. Prepare for the worst.

John 14:30 "I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me."

Ephesians 4:26-27 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold."

Don't Lose Heart

Marsha Burns

I see those who are weary. You have continued to try to press through and yet there seems to be no real progress at all. And, today, you just feel like sitting down and giving it a rest. But remember My word, "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." (Galatians 6:9) Don't lose heart. You need to be refreshed. You need to take time to come into My presence for renewal, restoration and refueling. Your vision has grown dim because it has been obliterated by your being worn down. The enemy has done his best to make you feel overwhelmed and unable to do what you started. But, I say, you are able to do what I called you to do. You can't do it on your own, but I will do these things through you as you yield to Me. Cast your cares on Me, and let Me have your burden. Don't give up.

Submit Yourselves To The Fire

Bill Burns

Know that I am indeed among My people. Know that I have come in this, the end of the age, to lift you up, that you might live in My sight and that you might know Me face to face. I say, get ready for fire. I am coming as a spirit of fire. Is it not written in My word that I would baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire? If you will submit yourselves to the fire of My conviction, the fire of My chastening, then you will be cleansed and empowered with that fire. Then, My words will come through your mouths with fire, and you will become the ministers of fire. You will become the torches of fire that I send into the fields of harvest. Your words of truth shall burn up all the stubble and will leave righteousness vessels behind. I am coming for a righteous people.

You, My people, cannot drink of the cup of demons and the cup of the Lord. I say, cast away the cup that the enemy is offering you, and lay hold of the cup of life, for what I have given you to drink will produce life in you, and it will produce an abundance of life and an abundance of joy and an abundance of peace. It will empower you for the Father's purposes.

I have come to release the weapons of the end-times. It is My fire that comes from My people, for My witnesses shall speak words of fire, a purifying word, an anointed word. That fire shall be a word of truth, which will establish the word of the apostles and true doctrine. Rejoice, for now the days of fire are upon you.

The Spiritual Glow

Timothy Glendenning

Rom. 12:11.---' Fervent in spirit.'

What do we mean by an enthusiasm? We mean an intense and generous passion for some supreme interest, so passionate that it dominates the life. And what do we mean by the defensive powers of such an enthusiasm? We mean that such a passion gathers all the forces of life into its own swift goings, so that nothing is left to loiter, nothing is left to trail along in aimless vagrancy. A noble enthusiasm is defensive because it makes the life whole and wholesome.

There may be a bewitching pleasure, a luring indolence, a seductive mischief but if the man has a passion for learning it is a defensive enthusiasm which destroys the assailments as in a consuming fire. Let a working-man have a passion for gardening and put him into an allotment, and what defensive forces his enthusiasm throws round about his leisure hours! It is the same with the passionate championship of some great ideal. Emerson's counsel has now become a familiar phrase: "Hitch your wagonto a star!" It is the wedding of idealism to very ordinary tasks. There can be a noble passion in common toil. And when we do hitch our wagon to a star, we may be perfectly sure that, whatever the star may do for the wagon, it will irradiate the wagoner and protect him by the ministry of sacred flame. But when enthusiasm begins to cool our defensive energy begins to wane. Just as soon as radiation ceases invasion begins.

Admiral Peary has told us, in his account of the discovery of the North Pole that it was in the dreary, weary Artic winter, when enthusiasm waned, that the hidden weaknesses of his men appeared. As the fires died low, quarrelsomeness stole in.

And so there comes this word of the Apostle, 'Be fervent in spirit.' Dr, Moffatt's rendering is 'maintain the spiritual glow.' This urgent counsel was given to a little company of disciples who were living their consecrated life in the city of Rome. Think of their environment. They were beset by evil incitements and suggestions and antagonisms. They lived and moved where the majesty of evil had its throne and sovereignty. And the Apostle Paul tells them that nothing but a passionate religion will endow them with needful resistance. Tepid devotion will afford no defenses.

There is no other counsel of the Apostle which is more urgent and timely for our own day. Now, as then, our spiritual enthusiasms are our moral defenses

Let us turn the light of the Apostle's counsel upon the individual life. When our devotion to Christ maintains a spiritual glow everything in our life shares the gracious influence of the quickening heat. Every power experiences the stirring of the heavenly warmth. It is like a garden where every unsprung seed thrills to the common touch of the spring-tide sun.

And as such a life is whole and wholesome so is it also secure. It is a familiar word, but one worth repeating, that no virtue is safe that is not enthusiastic. It is safe only when it becomes the home of fire. In the high realms of the spirit it is only the passionate that is secure. Evil contagions find an easy prey in the lukewarm, in those whose moral fires are dull, and who do not confront the enemy with the power of a fierce destruction. The Seraphim, those pure spirits who are in the immediate service of the Lord, are the 'burning ones,' and it is their noble privilege to carry fire from off the altar and touch with purifying flame the lips of the unclean.

When night falls upon the explorer in the jungle he seeks for a clearing, and lights a fire, and the cheery flame is his protection against the prowling beast. When the fire in the forest dies down, the wild beast always draws near.

Now turn the light of the Apostle's counsel to social fellowship, and let it fall upon the corporate life of the Church. When there is a spiritual glow in the Church ignoble things are consumed like dirt in a furnace. But let the Church lose her spiritual glow and all manner of un-Christly things swarm across her desecrated floors. We have a glaring example of all this in the state of the Church at Corinith as it is revealed to us by the Apostle.

There is an equally startling revelation of the smallness which invades a lukewarm Church in the example of the Church at Jerusalem. It had no missionary enthusiasm because it had lost its spiritual glow. When the Apostle returned from the last and greatest of his missionary tours he reported his work to the Church in Jerusalem. And what happened? Paul had kindled a line of holy fires through Asia Minor. Sacred beacons were blazing in Macedonia and lower Greece. Isles of the sea had become luminous with the light of life. He had incurred perils innumerable. He bore the marks of the Lord Jesus. And he was now old and broken, but his quenchless fire was burning. 'He declared particularly what God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.' And what did they say about it? With what kind of holy rapture did they receive it? 'Thou knowest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe, and they are all zealous of the law.' And what next? They urged him to take a purifying vow and to shave his head! Can you imagine that, if that Church had been glowing with a passion of devotional love to the Lord, such a peddling bit of Jewish ritual would have been forced into a season of spiritual wonder?

But we need not go to ancient Corinth and Jerusalem to learn that when the great glow departs from the Church smaller things come in. when the spiritual glow has gone out the organism is supplanted by the organization, the vital is changed for the institutional. What would the glow do for us? It would bring union. The Scriptures say nothing about welding separate things into vital fellowship, but they do speak about separated things flowing together into union. What a difference there is between welding things and the same things flowing together! But before things can flow together they must become molten. We must have genialities and fraternities flowing like molten streams from a central fire.

So it is in international life. Peoples become one only in the uniting energies of noble fire. Are we maintaining the glow? Or are the old evil things creeping back again? We can repel and destroy these emerging evils by feeding the fires of a large and noble enthusiasm. Everybody can bring fuel to the holy flame. We can strengthen it with knowledge, we can feed it with thought, we can quicken it with expression, we can deepen it with prayer. We can live and labor for the passion of brotherhood, the enthusiasm of humanity, the glow of Christ, the fire of God.

In Christ, timothy.
