Same Old Song

Hi, SheepTrax!

When I was in college, I majored in radio and TV. Part of my education was funded by my 20 hour a week job as the Continuity Director of our campus station. In those days, we had a varied format that included everything from AOR (album oriented rock) to news. We were a commercial college station manned by students who loved radio. Our communications director was a personal friend of Timothy Leary, the granddaddy of LSD if that helps clarify the picture.

Without a profit motive, radio is a delightful free-for-all. I still love listening to local community and not for profit stations because of the free artistic expression found. I maintain to this day that radio is a much more creative medium than boring TV - yeech! - because there are no retakes. When pot #1 is hot, the microphone is on, and we're live!

Commercial radio is a business, driven by and paid for by advertising. No problem making a profit. Once the profit motive is introduced, radios' role as a medium of community expression is greatly diminished and it becomes just another business.

One night, a daring friend of mine hatched a devious plan. She called 2 of our mutual friends who had graduated and were now gainfully employed at local commercial stations and suggested that at 11:00 pm that Saturday evening, the three of them play the same AOR classic, "Radar Love." Imagine a Friday night where for a few brief minutes all the competing rock radio stations in town were in harmony working together!

Kids, this was long before the crooning boy bands that dominate pop culture today. Back then, the early 80s, my Catholic friends prayed to Madonna; they didn't dance to her. Forgive me, but disco still sucked, and `N Sync was `N Diapers!

So, on that warm summer night, I had my radio on at 11 p.m., tuned to KRCU, the college station, when that Golden Earring pre-grunge classic was suddenly pumping at a blistering 100 watts of pure commercial free power. I quickly flipped to the other stations. All had started the same long playing LP - kids, that's kind of like a vinyl CD the size of a medium pizza - at almost the same instant.

As it was a weekend, the cruzers who had their radios cranked were amazed to hear the same song on all three stations. It was the campus buzz for weeks and it was beautiful. In that moment, I understood why I loved radio.

Flash forward a number of years. John and Suzie Saint have a dream; to start a ministry working with Goth kids. Most people see these freakish young `uns draped up in black, wearing skull rings and spider ear rings, with their faces painted cadaver white, and well, it's pretty clear their not part of the local Baptist youth group.

John and Suzie live in the suburbs surrounded by steeples and nice houses. Defying suburban Christian convention, they open their home on the weekends to these Goths, hosting barbeques and swimming parties in their backyard. Their home becomes a safe haven for the kids no one wants and surprise, surprise, they start coming to Christ. Delighted, John and Suzie try to bring their unusual harvest of souls to local churches, but are politely told to first "baptize them, and use soap when they're under the water," before they are welcome into the company of the church.

Frustrated, John and Suzie finally end up starting their own church. They weren't competing with anyone, but no one would welcome them for who they were. A few years pass and the Goths grow up, get jobs, have loveable little freaks of their own, and suddenly John and Suzie find themselves competing with the other respectable churches in the area. After all, there are bills to pay, salaries to meet, and they sit wondering at the spirit of competition as other pastors are now trying to lure away the now grown and respectable adults that a few years earlier no one wanted.

John and Suzie are angry with competing area pastors and start responding by marketing and beginning to attract members from other churches to their church - the place God is really moving. It becomes a cut throat war of "Come Grow With Us!" Weirder still, down the street there is this "rebellious" couple who are opening their home on the weekends to these weird looking kids, making noise at all hours of the night, making the neighborhood feel `less safe.' Don't these so-called Christians know that decent people have to work in the morning?

Sigh…

Wouldn't it be wonderful, even for one glorious weekend night, if we laid the profit motive aside and quit competing with the other churches in our community and remember why we all got into ministry in the first place? Perhaps we could all play the same song; not "Radar Love," but "God's Love," and then go out into the byways and highways with that same message.

Imagine it's the weekend, and the passersby who have their hearts open standing in amazement hearing the same love song coming from people of different churches working together because they purely and simply love God. It would be beautiful. Perhaps in that moment, we would remember why got into ministry in the first place.

Perhaps it's time to repent and return to commercial free ministry. It would certainly be a lot more fun.

The Anointed Ones

Jane Jacobson

I will do a deep inner healing in My people. There are roots that must come out; things that would trigger old memories and the old things of the past. I will do a deep work so that the "old things" cannot have power anymore or repeat themselves in the new works that I do. Be not surprised at the way you respond emotionally to certain words and situations. Be not ashamed at the tears you may shed for they are tears of healing that would wash away the pain of the past. I will use them for good as your hearts will grow and stretch with compassion, love, mercy and empathy for what others may be going through. I use all things for good, and certainly that which the devil has meant for evil. Pure gold comes from the fires and the testings. I will give beauty for ashes, and the oil of joy for mourning. Rejoice for these times will refresh you, and heal you, and give you peace where there was none before.

You are my trophies. I will display you to the world in high places where you will be a light and a beacon to the hopeless, the discouraged, the weary, and the lost. Your testimonies will have the power, as does the Word to defeat the devil, for does not My Word say that he will be defeated by My Word and the word of your testimonies?

What the world would consider weak, will be strong. For the broken vessels that they have seen, have now been, and are being transformed into precious vessels which will be used in these end days. You will walk in My authority. You will cast out devils, heal the sick, multiply the bread, and do wondrous works even greater than My Son. I send you to redeem, rescue, save, protect, give hope to, and bless.

I will do the work. Strive not. Rest and I will work, for it will not be of you, but of Me that the work will be done. You are My vessels; my hands and feet, My voice. You will be anointed, Christ like, The Anointed Ones.

And yes, you will be known by your love, for the world needs to be transformed by My love, not judgment. My goodness will bring people to repentance. The enemy's perversion of the word "love" has brought great evil and harm to the world. I will reveal Myself, and who I AM. I will reveal my love. It will break the powers of darkness, and yea even the hardest of hearts shall be melted down. For it is each man, woman, and child's desire to be loved in a pure, holy way. I will wash the defilement away and they will be clean, and then they too will go forth as a mighty force to set the captives free.

Trust Me. Hear Me. Obey Me. I am the God of the impossible. Believe it, for I will do mighty things which thou knowest not. Do not limit me with your understanding, but ask Me to give you My understanding, wisdom, and revelation.

The wind is blowing. Hear what the Spirit is saying. Obey the Spirit regardless of man's opinion. I am faithful. My ways are higher than your ways and joy shall overtake you as you go forth in obedience; and there will be no better way to live than in the will of God. The rewards are great on earth and in heaven. What joy could be greater than to save the lost from eternal damnation, or to bring healing and spare a life from great suffering and affliction?

And yes, the wealth of the wicked shall be laid up for the just. Treasures are hidden in dark places where I will reveal to My people where they are and how to get them. Obey here too, for money has power to set free and deliver too. Take that power from the enemy and use it for My will and purposes. Step out in faith, even as a mustard seed in obedience and watch Me multiply and restore what the locusts have taken.

Repentance

by Doug Fortune

Repentance... that word stirs thoughts of the many times I've cried out to God in sorrow for my sin. For many, it brings images of tears shed on bended knee at an altar call. Repentance was one of the primary emphases of the ministries of both John the baptist and Jesus. I can hear both of them crying out, "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Recently, I've been wondering why it seems we hear so little of repentance in the current apostolic reformation... or do we?

You see, my understanding of the cry of John the baptist and Jesus has always been paraphrased something along these lines; "Bring forth godly sorrow and confession of sin in order that you may be cleansed and be able to one day enter heaven." I don't think this is too different from the basic understanding of the majority in modern Christendom. Certainly there is truth in this understanding, but I believe there is more to it than just this. A closer examination will perhaps shed some more light on the subject.

What has always amazed and disheartened me in this issue of repentance is something I've seen many times in my own life and the lives of others. After heartfelt and sincere remorse and confession we find ourselves repeating the same offense we are repenting from. I have come to the conclusion that godly sorrow and confession ALONE do not have the power to break the bondage of sin! Now, before you stone me, consider this verse; "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation..."(2 Cor.7:10) Godly sorrow is a vehicle that leads us to the real bondage-breaker... and that is REPENTANCE to salvation. This means we must reconsider our understanding of repentance. The word is metanoia in Greek and quite plainly means 'to think differently or afterwards, to reconsider'. My friend, the primary emphasis of the current apostolic reformation is challenging us and enabling us to THINK DIFFERENTLY!

Unfortunately, some have mistaken sorrow and remorse for the whole of repentance, and have preached a sin-conscious works oriented gospel that has yielded many tears but little true inner change. Am I saying there is no place for confronting sin and for godly sorrow?... certainly not! Let's don't confuse it with repentance though! Remorse is certainly a vehicle and an important element accompanying repentance, but it does not constitute the whole of repentance.

To 'think differently' is not merely to train Adam to behave better through 'Christian behavior modification' either. Other than for deliverance and breaking generational bondages, probing and expending effort to understand WHY we have certain destructive behaviors is basically useless information stemming from the Tree of Knowledge that appeals to the carnal mind. (Obviously, there can be treatable medical conditions such as chemical imbalances that cause certain behaviors, but I'm not addressing that issue here.) To 'think differently' is really a matter of re-MEMBER-ing. Are we not members of a many-MEMBERED Body of which Jesus is the Head? Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we were created IN Christ, "For we are His workmanship, created IN Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath BEFORE ORDAINED that we should walk in them." This happened before we were born, before our BODY was conceived and in our mother's womb. We are an eternal SPIRITUAL being; we existed in spirit in the heavenly spiritual realm before we existed in our physical body.

With this in mind, let us re-examine the message of Jesus and John, "Think differently, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!" The word translated as kingdom is basiliea in Greek, meaning 'rule or a realm'. The word translated as 'at hand' is engidzo in Greek, meaning 'to make NEAR or approach'. So, do we think differently so that one day way off in the future we may go to a FAR AWAY place? Remember Jesus' conversation with Martha in John 11:25 concerning Lazarus being raised? Her words were something along these lines, "Yes Lord, I realize that one day in the sweet by and by..." Jesus response was, "I AM the Resurrection!", not just a future hope but a PRESENT reality!

The message of Jesus and John is, "Think differently (repent), for the rule and realm of the Spirit (the Kingdom of heaven) is available NOW (at hand)!" For the Christian, repentance is not merely so much about sin as it is about understanding who we really ARE in Christ and where we ARE actually seated in the heavenly spiritual realm. This repentance or thinking differently is not even so much about new information or new thinking, as it is about re-MEMBER-ing who we were originally created to be IN Christ. The Father had your destiny imprinted into your DNA before you even had any physical DNA! This thinking differently is not even so much about building something NEW, as it is about rebuilding that which lies in ruins. "After this I will return, and will build again the Tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up..."(Acts 15:16). We usually think of that verse in terms of corporate prayer and worship, but in reality WE are to be the Tabernacle with NO VEIL that God is restoring in the earth.

Once again I will state it, godly sorrow and confession ALONE do not have the power to break the bondage of sin! Only TRUE repentance, thinking differently, the renewing of the mind can bring freedom. "...be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..."(Rom.12:2) The word translated as renewing is anakainosis in Greek, meaning renovation, renewing. The primary thought this word conveys is restoring something to its ORIGINAL condition. Now then, does the Father desire to restore your mind to its condition the day you were born from your mother's womb?... obviously not. He wants to take us further back than that, to our original mind IN Christ. Does the Word not state that we have the MIND of Christ? (1Cor.2:16) As Christians, the mind of Christ is ALREADY within us and available, however I believe it must be apprehended... or rather, we must allow the mind of Christ to apprehend US. We must be about "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ..."(2 Cor.10:5) We must refuse the lies of the carnal mind, that the mind of Christ RENEW us to our original thinking IN Christ.

Let us continue to trumpet the repentance message of Jesus and John the baptist. Think differently, allow your mind to be restored to the mind of Christ, for the rule and realm of the Spirit is drawing near and available now! Don't put off into the future what is available NOW... the rule and realm of the Kingdom is at hand TODAY!

Arise O Faceless Bride

Dennis Drewlo

Arise O faceless Bride and come out from among the shadows. Come out from your place of obscurity. Come up to the mountaintop with Me. Look out at the horizon and all you see will be yours.

Arise and be healed, O wounded Bride. Let the oil flow over your scars. Bring your wounds to the Waters to be healed. Be healed, My Bride, for the multitudes are waiting. The cities are crying for the Brides release! Hear, My Bride. Hear the cries of the fatherless, the sick, the lost, for they are your inheritance. Call to Me day and night in never-ending intercession. Hear the groaning creation, O sons and daughters of God.

I am asking you to grow up, My Bride, for I am looking not for a teenage Bride, but for a fully mature Warrior Bride. Take your place on the Wall, you lover, you fighter. Arise and be healed. The time has come for the Bride to roll up her sleeves and get to work.

Call out to Me, for I long to hear the cries of My beloved. Deep into the night and earliest hours of the morning, call out to Me, My Bride. Hear, O Bride. Give Me your ears and I will reveal the hidden mysteries to you. Give Me your heart, O faceless one. Give Me your affections. I will fulfill the desires of My Bride.

Now is the time to prepare for Birth. Be strengthened for what is to come. Keep yourselves rooted and grounded in My love. I will strengthen you so that you will be able to carry and bring forth what I desire to birth through you. I ask you, My Bride, do not look back. O how it grieves Me when My Bride longs for what I have done in the past, for I desire so much more for you.

My desire is to have unity. My desire is to have one unified Bride and not an harem.

O nameless one, arise and lift up the Name of the Bridegroom. How I love to hear My Bride speak to Me. The stage is set, O Bride, for the grandest play of all. O faceless one, arise and take your place for what is about to come!!

Destroying Idols & High Places

Deborah Voetberg

"The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks on all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works."
Psalm 33:13-15

There is a shaking in the lives of God's people to loose them from idols and tear down their high places of worship. God is going after the intent of every thought that has exalted itself above the knowledge of Him. Thoughts that have been entertained, evaluated and eventually taken people captive. We have thought the idols have been destroyed, but we are still worshiping in the high places! Hearts must be directed toward God. Only God knows the place of the altar where we worship.

The plumb line of the Lord's has been dropped into the world, and all of creation is being measured according to His justice and righteousness. The cry in the spirit is for justice and righteousness to reign in the land, but it is the people who live in that land that determine the ruling power and influence by their hearts.

Looking at the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah in 2 Chronicles 17-20, we find an excellent example of how removing idols out of our lives is not enough. We must remove the high places they hold in our thoughts and hearts to be delivered and our hearts need to be directed toward God. The king's heart took delight in the ways of the Lord and originally did remove the high places and wooden images from Judah. He prospered in the land and the fear of the Lord was on all the kingdoms that surrounded Judah. So Judah had peace. But He allied himself with Ahab, the king of Israel, by his son marrying Ahab's daughter, Athaliah. Eventually the high places were restored and the people offered sacrifices and burned incense on them.

The word says how can two walk together unless they agree? When Jehoshaphat allied himself with Ahab, he showed a high place within himself. An altar that belonged not to the Lord, but to another. The Lord never called Jehoshaphat to walk with the wicked and those that hated Him. Because Jehoshaphat had areas in his life that took a higher place than the plans of his God, the people followed by reverting back to their places of worship and King Jehoshaphat lost favor with the Lord for the people had not directed their hearts toward the God of their fathers.

What is the first step of a high place being established in our heart for the eventual act of idolatry? Being out of God's rest and carrying burdens He has not given to us.

In Jeremiah 17:21&22, The Lord commands Israel to not carry burdens on the Sabbath day. It was to be a day of rest. In the new covenant according to Hebrews 4:1-11 we are to enter His rest, to hear His voice and not harden our hearts. To believe and enter into the promise of His rest. And to fear not doing so, lest any of us seem to have come short of it!

Why is the rest of the Lord so critical in our walk in the Spirit? Look back to Jeremiah 17. Following the warning on carrying burdens on the Sabbath day, the Lord takes Jeremiah to the potter's house in chapter 18. The vessel is marred, so the potter starts again, and makes it into a new vessel. The message was that the vessel had to obey the potter and rest in His hands as He re-fashioned him on the wheel. Israel's response." That is hopeless! " Much the same response we give the Lord when He says, " Be still and know that I am God." When it's time for Him to re-fashion us. Israel walked according to their own plans and obeyed the dictates of their heart. What followed that decision is found in chapter 18 verse 15..." Because My people have forgotten Me, they have burned incense to worthless idols. And they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways." What follows unrest and rebellion? Idolatry!

Idolatry is met with the wrath of God, though it is always His heart that we turn from our wickedness and live! In Amos chapter 4, we find five ways that the Lord comes to draw us through circumstances in our lives, to cry out for Him and repent from our ways, seeking Him and life.

  1. Verse 6, He gives us cleanness of teeth, hunger-famine! What we had been eating for bread has been removed from our lives to create a hunger, so that we will seek Him out, and be fed the bread of life. If we do not return to Him, we move on to verse 7&8. Thirst!

  2. He will withhold the rain! We become dry-parched and search for a new well for our thirst. We wander from city/meeting to city/meeting until we find water. But we are not satisfied, for we have not searched for Him, just to wet our thirst. We have still not returned to Him.

  3. Verse 9! We work, we plant and our garden increases! We must be doing okay with God! Look! Our vineyards are ready for harvest! But suddenly the frost comes and ruins our garden. And the locusts have devoured the vineyard and trees! The fruit of our labor has come to nothing! But our hearts become harden instead seeking Him out and we return not unto Him.

  4. Verse 10! A plague after the manner of Egypt is sent and our young men are killed with the sword. Our future and our strength are removed. And the evil stench of our wickedness rises to our nostrils. We start to choke on the choices of our lives. All of this to draw us to the reality of our desperate need for a Savior! To turn us from the captivity of Idolatry. To reveal clearly the high places where we worship! But woe, if we still do not turn.

  5. Verse 11! We find ourselves in the fire of destruction! But if we repent, we will be like a firebrand plucked from the burning! Many firebrands are on their way into the kingdom. Because of the great deception that is rampant in our society, it will take the fire of the Lord to bring people to their acknowledgment for a Savior. To throw down their idols and remove the wicked high places of worship that held them captive. To those who remain stiff necked...verse 12." Prepare to meet your God..."

The Lord cries out, " Seek Me and live! " To change our homes, cities and nations, we must change our hearts. We must direct them toward God and worship only at His altar and high place. Psalm 36:7-9 says, " How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures, for with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light."

Seek Him and live! Choose life...increase your light through His light!

Great Grace!

In One Accord???

by Jacquelyn Fedor

We are the body of Christ. Some are called to government and help make up the head of Christ and some are called to body members and make up the body of Christ. Like any sound body it should have one heart and one soul. It must be in one accord with itself to accomplish anything. Satan is aware that a house divided will fall. It is a spiritual law. So he introduces as much confusion as he possibly can. The biggest way he is successful is through the mixed message of the body of Christ today. It doesn't speak the same thing. A new convert would have no real idea of how to be saved. Some parts of the body say "just ask the Lord into your heart and you are forever His." Others teach "you must repent first, acknowledge your need to be saved, then ask Jesus to come into your life and be baptized." Some say at this point "you are forever saved" while others tell you that "you have to let the Holy Spirit mold and shape you by putting you in the fire and refining you to be restored to His image once again." In other words it is a continuous process, and not a one time thing. Who's right and who's wrong? And then, even if we do make it to baptism, how should we be baptized? In the name of Jesus? In the name of Jehovah, Yeshua, and Pneuma maybe? Or maybe in no name - just Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In other words, who He is in relationship to us. When we finally got past baptism and looked back on the event, had anyone ever explained to us that Adam's race was a fallen race this is why we had to be born over again? We couldn't just fix fallen man or straighten out Adam's race, we really needed to be born into something different, a new creature that would follow the Lamb rather than the goat.

Were we told it is legalism to follow the commandments of Christ and walk on the highway of holiness? Maybe it wasn't said quite like that, but it was implied that we can continue to sin and the blood of Jesus will cover it and the Spirit of grace will go on and on forgiving our carnality. Much more emphasis was put on these scriptures than for us to be holy as He is Holy, or that narrow is the way to eternal life and broad is the road to destruction. Here is another example (speaking in tongues). Which way is it? Should we speak in tongues? Is this evidence of being filled with the Spirit or are we filled with the Spirit when we ask Jesus into our hearts? Who do we believe?

Some sectors of the church leave all ministry to the leadership. The body just blesses God with their presence and money and they sit in a pew every service. And speaking of services, even the day we meet together is confused. Is Sunday correct? Or is Sabbath proper? Maybe the day doesn't even matter to God.

Another bit of confusion: Are apostles and prophets for today? Can women be used in this area or in any area of leadership for this matter?

When we are counseled on home life, are we told men rule the home, or spiritually cover the home? Are women helpmates or door mats?

The point I'm trying to make here is that the church does not speak with one voice. Its language is confused and is so much babble to the ears of the world. Examples: Should we try to fix the governments of this world or let them fall, knowing God's kingdom is coming forth. We pray "Thy kingdom come", and fix Satan's. We say we don't compromise, but we don't want to stir up contention by speaking truth. We say we are not old wineskins, but we like to do things the same way our parents did. The old song "If it's good enough for daddy then it's good enough for me" is part of the church's theme song, but the other half is telling us we have to change as God opens the seals of revelation giving us direction to walk through this end time. Or maybe this really isn't even the end times? Some say we are anointed, others teach He is anointed through us. Some say we are gifted, others teach He is the gift within and all we do is yield and die to our self so He can work through us. Some teach that once we are saved, Satan can't enter us so there is no real need for deliverance while others point to the scripture where Jesus tells Peter "get behind me Satan" and how that Satan entered Judas Iscariot and so demand that we go through deliverance before we can have any place in ministry. On and on, confusion, confusion!

Who do we listen to? Some say God loves everyone, while others point out He said "Jacob I love (the spiritual man) and Esau I hate (the carnal man)". Who are the Jacobs and Esau's today if God is the same? Didn't David sing a song of warning in Psalm 5 against the liars and the boastful workers of iniquity? He said God hates these ones. Was David right? Does God hate some types of people? And who are those He says shall not enter the kingdom, even though they call Him Lord and prophesied in His name and cast out devils and did many wonders? Who are the ones to whom He will say "I never knew you: depart from me you who practice lawlessness"? He called some hypocrite, others vipers and white washed graves. Where are these today? Who are they? Confusion and babble!

Did you know that in the beginning the whole world spoke one language? Over time, however, the sin that Satan introduced to mankind became so prevalent that they became totally united in their evil purposes and God had to stop them. The method He used to hinder their efforts was to confuse their language and break the power of their united message. It stopped them because they couldn't agree on how to accomplish anything and they became scattered.

Gen 11:1-9

  1. Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.
  2. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.
  3. Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.
  4. And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth."
  5. But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
  6. And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. [spiritual law]
  7. "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
  8. So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
  9. herefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Here is the real problem.

Satan counterfeits all he sees God doing. He recognizes a "spiritual law" when he sees it. He learned from the above experience that if the same message is not spoken by everyone (no matter how much people want to accomplish something), they will fail if they do not speak the same thing. A house divided will fall. It's a spiritual law.

Once more Satan will unite those that are lawless and full of rebellion through his message of lies and false doctrine. These become one evil voice again against God, His people and truth. These strongly united ones are then released into the church and their evil message misleads and overpowers the new converts. They speak confusion and lies into the hearts of these people, causing the once pure message to become so much polluted babble and a new Babylon is birthed. Confusion worked for God in Genesis and it is working for Satan today. Now a people with many different messages are trying to establish God's city (New Jerusalem) and His tower (the mountain of Zion). As Satan's people were scattered so long ago, we now see God's people disbanded and scattered in their efforts. But at Zephaniah 3:9 we see good news.

Zeph 3:9
9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord.
God says He will restore a pure language so we can call on His name and serve Him in one accord.

What language is this?

It is the language of the Holy Spirit. It may be spoken in different dialects and from many parts of the world, but the message will be pure and the same. No false doctrine in this gospel and no lies of Satan to shape and mold people into his image. People who are truly in one accord will speak what the Holy Spirit tells them to say. This will be a united message. One of truth and restoration. This message will flow forth as living waters to create a new heaven and a new earth and a new kingdom for God's people. Will it be a confused message anymore? Absolutely not! The Spirit knows and tells only truth. How do we recognize truth? Your spirit man knows the voice of the Holy Spirit no matter who the Holy Spirit is speaking through. When your spirit witnesses with the Holy Spirit that a thing is so, you will have a peace in the matter as you are obedient to that voice. Here lies a problem, however. God's ways are not ours and many times when the Spirit gives direction we don't like what we hear. It probably doesn't make sense to us anyway, and besides we like controlling our own destiny. We may have soul ties to the past or mind sets as to what we will believe and blind spots, making it hard to see truth. Besides, to listen to the Spirit will also many times mean we need to change our message and even our lifestyle. One thing I do know from scripture however, is that if our message is that of the Holy Spirit, it will not be one of compromise or confusion anymore. No more babble. Pleasing the Father will take precedence over tickling the ears of man. And if we continue in the pure message of the Spirit we will begin to develop in the very nature and image of truth itself.

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of Truth. If we allow Him to speak through us, He will draw us back together (in one accord) as was the early church, with one heart, one soul and one message. He is not a God of confusion so we will not be divided any longer as His house. We will be a house united with the same message and purpose and we will conquer! It's a spiritual law!

In closing I put this plea out to the church. Please listen for the voice of the Spirit of Truth. Let us allow God to weed the false doctrine and man's tradition out of the garden of our hearts and out of our message. The noise of confusion, compromise and lies is the voice of the enemy that screams over the top of the soft, quiet voice of the Spirit. As a prophet that I admire once told me: God nudges, Satan pushes. Learn to recognize the nudges and the soft still voice of the Holy Spirit. Don't listen to the voice of today's Pharisees and Sadducees as they fight to maintain their positions. Speak the pure language that God is restoring to the church: the voice long ago prophesied about in Zephaniah that will be restored at the time of God's wrath! Here is the fate of those that won't listen.

Zeph 3:1-4

  1. Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city! [Babylon]
  2. She has not obeyed His voice, she has not received correction; she has not trusted in the LORD, she has not drawn near to her God. [She is religious, not Godly]
  3. Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that leave not a bone till morning.
  4. Her prophets are insolent, treacherous people; her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. But here is the good news of the gospel.

Zeph 3:9
9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord.

Armed With Courage

A. W. Tozer

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
--James 1:6

When entering the prayer chamber, we must come filled with faith and armed with courage. Nowhere else in the whole field of religious thought and activity is courage so necessary as in prayer. The successful prayer must be one without condition. We must believe that God is love and that, being love, He cannot harm us but must ever do us good. Then we must throw ourselves before Him and pray with boldness for whatever we know our good and His glory require, and the cost is no object! Whatever He in His love and wisdom would assess against us, we will accept with delight because it pleased Him. Prayers like that cannot go unanswered. The character and reputation of God guarantee their fulfillment.

We should always keep in mind the infinite loving kindness of God. No one need fear to put his life in His hands. His yoke is easy; His burden is light. We Travel an Appointed Way, 48.

"Increase my faith; increase my courage. Amen."
