Extra-sensory perception
Extra-sensory perception is bound up with the human psyche, which is grossly misunderstood by the fundamentalist church. To many, any reference to the mind is considered occultic. The fact is that the human psyche is from the Greek of the same name and represents the breath of life that God has given man, the vital force which animates the body, the soul or life itself which continues in the eternal kingdom of God after the death of the body. The psyche is the seat of the feelings, desires and affections from our very being, our heart and soul and designed for everlasting life. In that sense, the positive direction of ESP would point to the mind of Christ and not to be feared but sought after. Because of what many have displayed in refusing to accept all that God has to offer us, the gift has been relegated to fortune tellers, new age psychics, soothsayers and witches. Again satan uses a gift of God as a counterfeit because the church is unwilling to accept it for themselves.
An anointed person can recognize the anointing in another simply by being near and the virtue emanating from the other, the same goes with being near evil.
Extra-sensory perception is the psychic perceptions of second sight. In Christianity it is best represented by the charisms of discernment and prophecy. Outside of Christian circles, ESP is still inherent in many individuals but only though the spirit of God will the gift be channeled in positive directions. In it is developed a psychic awareness, an empathy and sympathy with another person, seeing through what seems to be, to what really exists on a subconscious level. Without the gift coming from God, it should be explored very carefully or not at all. Anyone who explores the unknown regions of his emotions, the psyche, risks being exposed to hurts of oneself or to others. The psychic is, of course, sensitive, and therefore vulnerable. The psychic without the spirit of God exposes himself or herself to occultic influence and the doctrines of demons.
