The Eagle

The eagle of the Apocalypse is one of the heads of the last world beast. This eagle of end-time bible prophecy is like a dual personality. On the one hand, she is protective of God's people and on the other hand it is the most notable head of the beast and will persecute the saints. The nature of the beast is economic, the strong dominating the weak and it will enforce sanctions and embargoes on nations that do not worship its image.

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3  And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. Daniel 7:1-6

The standing lion is one of the most prominent symbols of England and it is very easy to associate Britain as being one of the rich countries of the north in the last days. You only need to think of one rich country of the Northern Hemisphere that could be the eagle plucked from the lion of England. Now you get the idea. The bear is also easy to identify as being Russia. The symbol of the leopard is of its many spots, as in a coalition of nations.

The eagle flies faster and higher than anything in creation, up to an altitude of 10,000 feet. It can live for over 50 years. It sheds his feathers around early spring and after which the eagle takes on a more youthful appearance. The eagle is by far the King of Birds. The Bald Eagle has been the symbol of America almost since the beginning. Congress chose the American Bald Eagle as the emblem of the United States in 1782 because it is only found in North America.

Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird, because he thought the eagle was of bad moral character. They exploit and take advantage of the weak and use their size to steal from the labor of others. The Bald Eagle remains the American national bird and ranges in every U.S. State from Alaska to Florida, excepting Hawaii. Of course, it is not bald, their feathers are white. The Bald Eagle is a beautiful, magnificent bird, master of the sky and noted for its exceptional sight and amazing speed. They are monogamous and remain faithful to their mate until death. They are territorial. Bald Eagles are primarily fish eaters or feed on small animals, but a clumsy hunter and fisher compared to others. They prey mostly on weak or injured fish, or find dead ones (carrion) or those that come to shallow water to spawn. The Bald Eagle also will steal fish from the osprey when the weaker bird has captured a live fish, harassing it from the air until the osprey drops the fish, whereupon the eagle snatches it away. The Bald Eagle is now an endangered species due to the intrusion of man.

At least 8 kinds of eagles and vultures have been observed in palestine. The Hebrew word Nesher is used and it is impossible to determine which species is identified. The Golden Eagle seems to be the eagle that has been the subject of prophecy lately and is being used to identify the prophetic scriptures concerning the eagle in the last days in serving God's people and not the bald eagle. Upon the wings of an eagle and the molting renewal have been described to illustrate what will be happening in the revival. The Golden Eagle was used as the national symbols of Rome and Persia, they are also found in western North America. In ancient times, the Golden Eagle was as a symbol of courage and power because of its large size, superb aerial skills, and the altitude of many of its nest sites in wild and mountainous country. The golden eagle measures over 8 feet.

Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

Eze 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

The Lord shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue you shall not understand. A nation of fierce countenance which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shows favors to the young. And he shall eat the fruit of your cattle, and the fruit of your land, until you are destroyed." "Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make her nest on high? She dwells and abides on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and her eyes behold afar off. Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she."

"Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, there will I bring you down, says the Lord." "And the first beast was like a lion, calf, face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle..." "And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent."

"You have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagle's wings, and brought you unto myself. As an eagle stirs up her nest, flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them and bears them on her wings. So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." "For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the Sun be darkened, the moon shall not give her light, the stars shall fall from Heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
