Bolsheviks

The Bolsheviks were the left wing of the Russian Social Democratic Party. Gramski - The Bolshevik shows himself to be a prisoner of metaphysics... as an extra-historical truth, as an abstract universal outside of time and space.

The Bolshevik Revolution of 1917-20 began as a small group of communists in 1903. With little support or financial aid the ultimately led to the violent overthrow of mighty Czarist Russia. What began as small groups or cells were evangelistic in their propagation of the oppression and social problems of Russian society. The people at first considered the Bolshevik message as radical and unrealistic. In time the determination and constancy of their message and because of the unity of the adherants in the face of danger and opposition, the Bolshevik ultimately one by one began to win converts from the common people until they were ultimately able to realize their aspirations.

If the parallel resembles what we are doing to bring in the kingdom, we agree. The fact of a totalitarian government as the response to a genuine righteous cause shows that the Bolshevik revolution tried to bring in the kingdom of God by force. We are not to be that way but rely solely upon the spirit of the risen Jesus to accomplish our goals and lead us into the kingdom. Ours is of the spirit and not the flesh. As we are determined to bring this about, we cast our crowns at the feet of the Lord.
