Mount Hermon

Also called in the Arabic, Jabal ash Shaykh, the "mountain of the chief," Mount Hermon is the highest point in the Anti-Lebanon range, 9232 ft above sea level. It is a massive, snow-capped isolated mountain that towers above the surrounding countryside. Mount Hermon is a grand old majestic mountain, forever made historic and sacred because of that famous ministerial convocation, and especially because of that celestial conflagration, giving the man of God Heaven's own approval to His doctrine and life. Mount Hermon is the beautiful site of the transfiguration of Jesus. It is now a popular ski resort and its significance is evident in the ruins of many ancient temples that now encompass the mountain.
