Broken To Become Pliable

TaMara Williams

The Holy Spirit has been at work allowing brokenness to come into our lives. Men have not always understood the work and purpose of brokenness because it deals with every area of our lives. We understand as believers that there are test and trials that come along with the package. However like Job when it seems more than we can bear then our mind and thoughts are exposed to examination also. In the end Job found that God knew much more about him than he did. God alone knew how to get into those places that know one else knew about. But the process was through brokenness.

We cannot choose our paths of brokenness for if we did we would surely lessen the pain or the duration of our journey. As the Holy Spirit allows us this wonderful opportunity to become broken, He is looking for one thing to manifest…

WILL WE BECOME PLIABLE?

PLIABLE: EASILY BENT, FLEXIBLE

Jesus knew He had to go to the cross to bring Salvation to man, however He had to become broken to the place where He was completely pliable to the Will of God. We must become PLIABLE TO THE WILL OF GOD…..if we are to really understand brokenness. Brokenness is the key to unlock the treasures of our PURPOSE AND DESTINY.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him 1 Corinthian 2:9

When Jesus went to the garden of Gethsemane he took His disciples and desired that they would pray with Him. Only to find that they had slumbered in a deep sleep. He desired that they would help Him to pray for what was ahead. But this He would find out was for Him Alone to experience a level of brokenness that would be the seed for us to experience the Harvest. When we are broken we are the Harvest from the Seed of Jesus being broken. Matthew 26: 37- 44

And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matthew 26:39

The brokenness of the Garden was what was needed in order to release Jesus to become Pliable for everything that took place when the soldiers arrested Him.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12: 2 -3

He needed to become so pliable that, even when He knew He could call on the angels to stop the process He did not.

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? Matthew 26: 53-54

BROKENESS IS BETWEEN THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

As believers the Holy Spirit has given us much to draw from in order to reach our purpose and destiny from the Body of Christ. We can draw from wisdom, knowledge, council, the gifts of the spirit, fellowship and so much more. However there is one place where we must enter into where no man can be our answer, for in our brokenness man may not understand and then we see JOBS FRIENDS RESURRECTED.

We may know what the will is for our lives, however we must be broken to become pliable to that will.

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand Isaiah 64:8

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it Jeremiah 18:4

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel Jeremiah 18:6

Adam and Eve were in a garden called Eden and they could have done the will of God through obedience, however we know that through disobedience they sinned and died spiritually. Jesus was in a Garden called Gethsemane and He became the clay willing to be broken to the dictates of the flesh in order to do the Will of God.

Jesus did not succumb to the soul and the flesh, but He subjected those things to the will of God: And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44

IS YOUR BROKENESS CAUSING YOU TO BECOME PLIABLE?

The word declares that judgment will begin at the house of God. It also says that each one of us are a temple and the Lord will come just as He did in the Word and cleanse His temple so that it will be what he called it to be. And whatever is in that temple to cause it to be defiled must be cast out. Let us not allow pride to cause us to not become pliable.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves Matthew 21:12 -13

There are areas in our lives that are tares and it is now the time of the harvest and the Lord has allowed the tares top grow alongside the precious wheat in us. But we must allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to us those tares and then pluck them up. THE CHOICE IS OURS. Jesus told Peter that he would deny Him and Peter felt that He never would however, Jesus knew that through the brokenness of Peters denial that it would produce a place for Peter to become pliable to the Will of God.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat Luke 22:31 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. and he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me Luke 22:33 -34

BUT I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU

When the process of brokenness begins in our lives people will be our chief enemy in the sense that they may not understand why we are going through such trials. It is out of their love and concern, however we must remember that the potter is at work. We know that we must all go through brokenness however we must allow the brokenness that will release the WILL OF GOD FOR OUR LIVES WHICH HOUSES OUR PURPOSE AND DESTINY. Which is different for each of us. Remember when Saul was on the Damascus road, Jesus produced a brokenness in him to call him to his purpose and his name to Paul. But when he told Ananias to lay hands on him to receive his sight and the people were afraid because they knew his past.

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake Acts 9:13 - 16

Jesus is yet saying to us; but I have prayed for you, allow me to take you through brokenness for then you shall find that which is pure.

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold Job 23:10

Uncharted Territory

Demetric Derico

Upon being born into the family of God, I believe that God calls us to forsake all that we have and move into a land that is foreign to us-that is, uncharted territory. The forsaking of all that we have is, of course, no easy undertaking considering that many of us have been in bondage so long to these "belongings" that they have become idols and cannot be easily relinquished. Yet, God calls us to forsake it all and come to a land that He has prepared for us.

This uncharted territory is land that God has prepared for you and me; this land is so much better than the land in which we currently reside. In this land, there exists no sin or suffering. I am not speaking of an actual land, my friends, but of the other side of eternity. I am speaking of the life we used to live and the life that God demands that we live. We cling to our land of nativity while God commands that we relinquish that clinging nature and move to a land that He has prepared, which, by the way, we have never seen, know nothing about, or cannot even visualize! Romans 8:6-7-

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be.

As previously stated, to get to this uncharted land, one must first be born again-that is, born into the family of God. Why is this so important? Well, we are naturally carnal creatures and think in like fashion. According to the above verse, this life leads to death. Conversely, the spiritual mind leads to life and peace. If we remain in the carnal mentality, then, we, in effect, are clinging to our current land and lifestyle and rejecting the "Promised Land" that God has established. Genesis 12:1-2-

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show unto thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Abraham, the father of all nations, apparently was faced with this same situation. He, as great as he was, began in the Bible as an idol worshipper, totally in bondage to his land, his gods, and his family. As the above verses demonstrate, God called him out of his land of nativity into a new land, a "Promised Land". Mind you that Abraham did not know a thing about the land that he would inherit; he did not even know if there were people there. All he knew is that this "imaginary" God was calling him out of everything that he knew and was used to into something about which he was totally ignorant.

God calls each and every one of his children to the same thing. He has called us out of our land of birth and into a new land. Jesus died for us so that call could be made without the sacrifice of bulls and goats. Some of us are bound in the land of overeating; others are bound in the land of self-doubt; a few are bound in the land of hatred; and there are even those who are bound in the land of homosexuality. Analyzing each person in this land, we all see that they are happy to be here. The person can indulge in his fantasy or pleasure without shame or fear because all that surrounds him supports his behavior. Yet, the voice of the Lord still calls out to all of us to come out of this destructive land to a land that He has prepared for us.

But, who would want to come out of this land and risk suffering withdrawals, joking, sneering, and pain? What is the point? The same point exists in why it is good to stop smoking. Sure, the pain of stopping can seem overwhelming. But, the joy of actually succeeding is much better. In addition, the benefits of good health and a long life far outweigh the temporal pain that you must initially endure.

Interestingly enough, God gives that same example to Abraham and to all of us. God simply does not give the command to come out of his land simply because Abraham should. He accompanies this mandate with a promise of good tidings, long life, and name to be remembered. You all know the story of Abraham, of how he stumbled so many times in coming out of this land. But, we also know the end of Abraham-he died a very righteous death and totally righteous in the Lord's sight.

Likewise, I am sure that you all know the story of the liberated children of Israel by Moses. These people were in bondage to Pharaoh and his army for so long that they had grown accustomed to this lifestyle. One could even say that they enjoyed it. When Moses and Aaron came to deliver them to the "Promised Land", there was initially some strife about it. Why should we move and incur the wrath of Pharaoh? Why should suffer to get there when all is not too bad where we are now? Despite all of this, God made a way for them to get out of the situation that they were in.

They escaped the wrath of the king. They wandered through the desert so many years to get to their "Promised Land"-murmuring and complaining the whole time. When they were at the doorstep of the "Promised Land", they hesitated to enter. Yet, a few of them did enter and enjoyed the promises that God had made.

The same situation exists in our lives. We were once in bondage to the king of this world-happy to be in that sickening state. Yet, Jesus became our Savior and guided us out of this state to a new land-a land that is not yet known or explored but is all the same ours because He said it was ours. The journey between leaving the old land and making it to the new is hard. Many people will choose to quit and fall away because of the pain and suffering involved. But, those who do endure to the end are the ones who have the true victory and can testify about what the Lord has done for them.

I admonish you all, my friends, to come out of the land that you are currently in and move to the Promised Land that God established before the foundations of the world. The land belongs to you already-you simply have to realize that it is yours!

Jesus be with you all!

The Lord Knows His Righteous Ones!

Joseph Todd

Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation." Gen 7:1

"For the days are approaching that I will separate the wheat from the chaff, the just from the unjust and the righteous from the unrighteous. 'Things are different, and I feel a stirring in my spirit,' you say, and you speak rightly so.

"Know that Noah did according to all that I commanded him and My protection was around him and that the godly I will save. For I see that the wickedness of man is great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart is only evil continually.

"Yet, I also see many that believe in Me, and I account it to them for righteousness. For I will repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; and reward them according to their righteousness. Great mercy will be extended to My servants because they walked before Me in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with Me.

"I hear them when they call, for I am the God of their righteousness! I will relieve them in their distress; have mercy on them, and hear their prayers. I will lead them, in My righteousness because of their enemies; and make My way straight before their face.

"I shall judge My people; judge them, according to their righteousness, and according to their integrity within them. For I am righteous and I love righteousness; My countenance beholds the upright. He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; he who does these things shall never be moved.

"For my righteous ones have kept My ways, and have not wickedly departed from Me and I will reward them according to their righteousness; according to the cleanness of their hands I have recompensed them. I will restore their soul and lead them in the paths of righteousness for My name's sake.

"They shall receive blessing from their Lord, and righteousness from the God of their salvation For My blessings are upon the righteous. They will leave an inheritance to their children's children, and the wealth of the sinner is stored up for them because they are My righteous ones.

"For they have not grown weary in well doing because they have waited upon Me and I renewed their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint!"

Get Your House In Order

Teresa Seputis

Child of mine, this is the season to get your house in order. Many of My children think they do not have to do this until they are closing out their earthly affairs, until they are about to leave this world and be brought home to Me in eternity. But I say unto you, this is not the case. You are get your house in order and you are to live with your house order, under My lordship and under My authority. It is time to cast aside anything that would hold you back, anything that would keep you from walking with Me and doing with Me what I am doing in My power and in My authority.

It is a time to receive healing, a time to cast off the dependencies and oppressions of the things of this world. It is a time to set your heart and emotions in agreement with My priorities, that you are not hindered by holding on to things that hold you back and things that cause you harm. It is time to lay aside offense, strife and anger and to embarace forgiveness as freely as I have forgiven you. It is a time to embarce love of your brothern as completely as I have loved you. It is the time to renouce oppressions and dependecies, for I long to set you free, that you might be under My Lordship instead of being controlled by these things. It is time to lay aside your own agendas and embrace mine.

Child, the time is soon coming where I am going to pour out My power and My anointing on those who have, under the guidance of My Holy Spirit, set their spiritual houses in order. I am looking for a people set apart and dedicated to Me, that I might show My glory through them, that many will be drawn unto Me. So I say to you, child of Mine, do not delay. Set your house in order

Open Your Ears

Kristin Reeg

Open your ears, My people and hear My heart's cry. For today is a new day. The old has gone. The new is coming. Open your ears to be attentive to My voice. For these are the days in which you will need to hear Me to know whether to turn to the right or to the left. I have not forsaken you. I have not forgotten about you. The plans and the purposes that I have already prepared in advance for you to do are about to come to fruition. Seek Me, My children and I will direct you. Know that My promises are yes and amen, and the things that I have promised you are soon to be manifested. Trust Me and rise above the doubt that attacks you.

Open your eyes and see the blessings that are in store for you. Open your hands that you might receive those blessings. Let go of what you hold onto and see what I wish to replace it with. Remember, My plans are to prosper you not to harm you. I only give good gifts. Why do you fear that when you let go of what you're holding onto that I will replace it with something bad? Release that fear and accept My love. Perfect love casts out all fear and I love you and will not harm you.

Trust Me.

Pressing on and pressing in,
Kristin =)

His Love

Carla Benton

Be rooted in the Love of God, know My love, be filled with My love to overflowing.

Cherish one another, for this should be what you are known for and proves your discipleship. Spend time with Me, receiving My love, see others as I see them, through eyes and hearts filled with divine love and compassion. You will fall in love with "The Family", as I have.

Then...the Bride will rise up with healing, wholeness and abundance to take her place in this time. You have tried to exert your faith, remember faith works by love.

As you develop a heart for one another, to cherish, protect and provide for "The Family" you will truly become My disciples, known for your love of one another. In this your joy will be great and strength assured.

As you lift Me up in the midst of your love, men will be drawn to that love and to Me, for it is My love in you, being manifest for each other . The love of "The Family" is the light in the earth. The true yearning and hunger of mankind will be satisfied by My love and My Kingdom will be on the earth.

You cannot do this in your natural self for the love you share just by trying to love others is not divine love and does not bring life. Do not strive and try to love from your own nature. It is carnal, no matter how well intentioned.

Spend the time with Me, in My Word, until you are convinced of My love and know My love. Don't say "yes, I know that you love me", but it is only on an intellectual level. My love must fill your heart. Experience My love, it is there for you. I desperately desire you to be close, intimately close to Me. Seek My face, require that we are vitally connected. It will open a new level of love and peace that will bring you into My secret place, which I greatly desire for you.

One Master

Doug Morrell

What You Do Determines Who You Serve

...whether it be by life, or by death. (Phil. 1:20)

This earthly life is the closest thing to heaven an unbeliever will ever know. Likewise, this earthly life is the closest thing to hell a believer will ever know.

To those who don't believe in God, life on earth is all there is, and so it is natural for them to strive for this world's values--money, popularity, position, power, pleasure, and prestige. Just turn on the television, open a magazine, or listen to the radio; all the power of worldly advertising is founded on the elusively deceptive promise of making you wealthy, more attractive, more successful, more valuable, more desirable, or more exclusive.

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. (Mth. 6:24)

Jesus tells us that we can have only one master. We live in a materialistic society where many people serve money. They spend all their lives collecting and storing it, only to die and leave it behind. Their desire for money and what it can buy far outweighs their commitment to God and spiritual matters. Whatever you store up, you will spend the majority of your time and energy thinking about. Don't fall into the materialistic trap, because "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Tim. 6:10). As a Christian believer, can you honestly say that God, and not money, is your master? One test is to ask which one occupies more of your thoughts, time, and efforts. Simply take out your check book and follow the ledger.

Money is a hard master and a deceptive one. Wealth promises power and control, but often it cannot deliver. Great fortunes can be made--and lost--overnight, and no amount of money can provide health, happiness, or eternal life. How much better it is to let God be your Master. His servants have peace of mind and security, both now and forever.

Jesus contrasted heavenly values with earthly values when he explained that our first loyalty should be to those things that do not fade, cannot be stolen or used up, and never wear out. We should not be fascinated with our possessions, lest they possess us. This means we may have to do some cutting back if our possessions are becoming too important to us. Jesus is calling for a decision that allows us to live contentedly with whatever we have because we have chosen what is eternal and lasting.

A disciple of Jesus lives to develop eternal values and to tell others about Christ, who alone can help them see life from an eternal perspective.

Like the Apostle Paul, a disciple's whole purpose in life should be to live life deliberately, passionately, and boldly for Christ Jesus and to become more like him. We, like Paul, should confidently say that dying would be even better than living, because in death we would be removed from worldly troubles, and we would see Christ face to face (1 John 3:2, 3).

If you're not ready to die, then you've not yet begun to live. Make certain of your eternal destiny; then you will be free to serve--devoting your life to what really counts, without fear of loss or death.

Grow in grace and truth...
